Welcome
Welcome to my practice. Whether you're navigating a difficult season of life or simply feeling stuck, I'm glad you're here. This is a place where you can speak openly, without judgment, and work toward the changes that matter most to you.
Originally from Winnipeg, I spent many years practicing in Houston, Texas, and I recently returned home to establish a practice here.
I take a warm, collaborative approach to therapy, drawing on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), trauma-informed and existential approaches, and other evidence-based methods to help clients understand themselves more clearly and make lasting changes.
Over my career I have worked with people presenting with a wide variety of difficult issues and mental health concerns. My areas of special interest include therapeutic work around grief and loss, depression, suicide prevention, issues associated with traumatic experiences and life transitions.
Areas of focus
A safe space to process bereavement and the many forms of loss that are part of a full life. I have a special interest in grief work after traumatic deaths, including after suicide or homicide.
Individual therapy for low mood, loss of motivation, and persistent feelings of sadness or emptiness.
Learning to process, manage, and heal from the emotional, physical, and psychological impacts of adverse life experiences. These may include childhood traumas (e.g., physical abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, death of a sibling or parent, etc.) and adverse experiences during adult life (sexual trauma, serious accidents, physical assault).
Support for generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and the everyday pressures that feel unmanageable.
Navigating major changes - career shifts, relocation, relationship changes, retirement - with clarity and confidence.
FAQ
Yes — I offer a brief phone consultation at no charge so we can get a sense of whether working together would be a good fit.
The fee for a 50-minute therapy session is $235.00 and is payable at the time of service. I do not direct bill. However, ask your insurer about your coverage, and I can provide you with a receipt for reimbursement at your request. Many extended health plans cover registered psychologists.
Payments can be made by e-tranfer or credit card.
Sessions are 50 minutes. We can discuss whether a different format might suit your needs.
That varies from person to person and depends on what you're working on. Some people find a handful of sessions helpful; others prefer longer-term support. We'll check in regularly and adjust as needed.
